Understanding and Creating Caring and Compassionate Organizations
This panel was organized by the Academy of Management in celebration of the publication of a special issue of the Academy of Management Journal devoted to understanding and creating caring and compassionate organizations. This panel discussion focuses on the scholarship presented in the special issue of the research journal (Volume 37, Number 4, October 2012), which featured research on a wide variety of issues related to compassion in organizations.
CompassionLab member Sally Maitlis, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of British Columbia, contributed to the panel, which was moderated by Professor Sara Rynes, John F. Murray Professor of Management and Organizations at the University of Iowa, and a past editor of the Academy of Management Journal.
